Cryostat CM1950

Cancer & Bowel Research Trust is proud to have provided the Gastroenterology Research Laboratory with a Cryostat CM1950 which is an essential piece of equipment in their research projects. It is necessary for the preparation of frozen sections, histological verification and selection of samples of cancer and other tissues for tests which require a high quality DNA and RNA for analysis. This equipment will be used in projects investigating various molecular aspects of colon cancer, its precursors and coloerctal polyps including adenomas and serrated polyps.

Staff of the Gastroenterology Research Laboratory gratefully accepting the Cryostat machine from representatives of Cancer & Bowel Research Trust

The Leica Microsystems CM1950 platform allows pathologists to produce high-quality frozen sections more easily, safer and faster. The machine is innovative and adaptable with ergonomic comfort and advanced safety. This leads to improved workflows and diagnostic confidence. The machines are highly adaptable and tailor-made for each laboratory, with a range of options available. The Gastroenterology Research Laboratory has custom designed their clinical cryostat machine to meet their specific needs and maximise efficiency, speed and specificity.
