Breakfast Fundraiser

On Thursday 22nd October 2009 Sonya Gertler organised a "breakfast for bowel cancer support" at her workplace, Pinpoint Marketing, in Balmain, NSW. Sonya's partner Paul who is 36 years old was diagnosed with bowel cancer recently after being encouraged to undergo a colonoscopy.

He is now recovering as the cancer was removed during the procedure. The breakfast was a novel way to spread some awareness of the disease, especially amongst younger people, under 50. Carman's kindly donated muesli for the breakfast which was enjoyed by many of the staff. The fundraising initiative raised over $600 for Cancer & Bowel Research Trust.

Shave for Bowel Cancer

In November 2008, Michael Collard from Muswellbrook, NSW, decided to raise funds for the Cancer & Bowel Research Trust by shaving off his hair and beard. This brave gesture helped raise $3964.80 and increased awareness of bowel cancer. We appreciate the generosity of Michael, his family and friends.
